Manufacturing Corporation of America Acquires Fossil Industries, Reopens Facility and Restores Jobs
Strategic acquisition strengthens MCA's metal fabrication capabilities while bringing workforce back to tri-state operation
HUNKER, Pa. — June 23, 2025 — Manufacturing Corporation of America (MCA), an investor-owned, industrial-focused business committed to revitalizing American manufacturing, today announced the acquisition of Fossil Industries, a provider of precision sheet and tube laser cutting, bending and fabrication services. Effective immediately, Fossil Industries will operate under the MCA brand.
The acquisition brings renewed resources to the facility, which had closed in May. MCA is actively rehiring former Fossil Industries employees who wish to return and has already brought back six team members, with plans to triple the workforce by the end of the year.
"This acquisition represents a strategic expansion of our metal fabrication capabilities, directly supporting our recent Boss Lighting acquisition and furthering our diversification strategy," said Steve Austin, president of MCA. "We're excited to restore these valuable jobs to the community, and enhance our ability to support our customers throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York."
Fossil Industries delivers proven expertise in computer numerical control (CNC) laser cutting for sheet, tube and bar; multiple CNC press brakes; a Mandrel tube bender; and precision welding. The facility is equipped to handle everything from small-batch orders to full-scale production runs, serving diverse industries including automotive, oil and gas, medical devices, recreation and outdoor equipment, fitness equipment and specialized tubing and sheet metal fabricators.
The acquisition strengthens MCA's position in the manufacturing sector, adding critical metal fabrication capabilities to complement existing operations and support the company's growth strategy across multiple industrial segments.
MCA's focus in the months ahead will be on expanding its customer base across the region while continuing to invest in jobs, innovation and long-term operational excellence.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs
Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
