T-Mobile Unleashes Innovators to Drive 5G Forward

What's the news: T-Mobile is announcing a series of bold moves designed to drive developer innovation on 5G. It includes a new developer platform, innovation center, venture investments, T-Mobile Accelerator participants, and strategic 5G partnerships with Disney and Red Bull. Why it matters: 5G is a game changer. But 5G hype has been out of control and 5G developer innovation has been disappointing. 5G will never reach its full potential if the Carriers don't get out of the way. Who it's for: Innovators building the 5G future and everyone who will benefit from the world they create.

Leveraging Technology for Developing the Circular Economy

Circular economy practices that prevent goods from going to landfills - by encouraging reuse or recycling - can help. However, these practices aren't always easy to implement. Brands are experimenting with Industry 4.0 technology that may streamline the circular approach.

TSN improves digital twins in manufacturing

Digital twin technology is transforming manufacturing operations by offering real-time, virtual representations of key equipment and processes. In effect, these model replicas can boost the performance and capabilities of future-oriented technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Big Data analytics. To succeed in the creation of highly accurate, value-adding digital twin applications, companies should use Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) as the enabling technology.

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

The FLIR Si1-LD is an easy-to-use acoustic imaging camera for locating and quantifying pressurized leaks in compressed air systems. This lightweight, one-handed camera is designed to help maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering professionals identify air leaks faster than with traditional methods. Built with a carefully constructed array of MEMS microphones for high sensitivity, the Si1-LD produces a precise acoustic image that visually displays ultrasonic information, even in loud, industrial environments. The acoustic image is overlaid in real time on a digital image, allowing you to accurately pinpoint the source of the sound, with onboard analytics which quantify the losses being incurred. The Si1-LD features a plugin that enables you to import acoustic images to FLIR Thermal Studio suite for offline editing, analysis, and advanced report creation. Field analysis and reporting can also be done using the FLIR Acoustic Camera Viewer cloud service. Transferring of images can be managed via memory stick or USB data cable. Through a regular maintenance routine, the FLIR Si1-LD can help facilities reduce their environmental impact and save money on utility bills.
