Yo, I'm Lucas, an SMT engineer with I.C.T, and I just wrapped an awesome project in Indonesia. In April 2024, I hopped a flight to help an EMS manufacturer get their new PCBA coating machine up and running. As a frontline engineer, I'm all about diving into the tech trenches to make production lines hum, and this gig was no different.

The client was a major EMS player, cranking out high-quality electronics. My job? Make sure their new coating machine fit their setup like a custom glove. I tweaked circuits, adjusted pneumatic pipelines, and got everything dialed in. It's like tuning a high-performance engine—precision is everything. Once the machine was ready, I spent time training their engineers, breaking down the software, and tailoring solutions to their PCB needs. By the end, they were ready to keep the line running smoothly.

At I.C.T, we don't just drop off equipment and call it a day. Our smart factory solutions are about building trust and delivering results. With over 25 years of experience, we're all about helping clients like this Indonesian manufacturer crush it. From reflow ovens to full SMT lines, we bring the expertise to make factories smarter and more efficient. Want to see how we can level up your production? Hit us up at smt@smt11.com!

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
