Automate 2025: Orbbec Launches Gemini 435Le, Empowering Robots to See Farther and Navigate Smarter
As robotics applications expand into more complex and precise scenarios, the market demands higher accuracy and greater reliability in 3D perception
At the largest robotics and automation show in the Americas, Automate 2025, Orbbec today unveiled its Gemini 435Le, the latest addition to its industrial-grade stereo vision lineup, delivering substantial enhancements for industrial applications and offering industry-leading depth sensing performance.
As robotics applications expand into more complex and precise scenarios, the market demands higher accuracy and greater reliability in 3D perception. Drawing on over a decade of industrial experience, Orbbec introduces the Gemini 435Le—not to disrupt, but to complement its product portfolio by addressing the technology gap between high-demand and fragmented use cases, with a focus on precision adaptability.
Key Features of Gemini 435Le:
- Long-range, High-precision Sensing: Optimized for robotic vision, the Gemini 435Le provides low-noise, high-density depth data even while in motion. This is crucial for large robots such as forklifts to achieve stable positioning, navigation, precise obstacle avoidance, and object recognition in complex environments, significantly enhancing robotic path planning efficiency.
- Exceptional Reproduction of Object Edges and Contours: Even with intricate object contours, Gemini 435Le accurately reproduces target edges and effectively identifies pallets made from various materials, meeting high-precision recognition and measurement needs. At the Orbbec booth, visitors can witness direct performance comparisons where Gemini 435Le outputs complete depth images in complex, mixed-material scenes—showcasing superior environmental adaptability and sharp, distortion-free geometric edges for smoother, clearer object contours.
- Scene-configurable Depth Modes for Flexible Adaptation: Gemini 435Le comes with multiple preset depth modes and supports easy switching through software configuration.
For example:
In AMR Perception Mode, the camera prioritizes depth data completeness and stability, optimizing for mobile navigation and obstacle avoidance.
In Dimensioning Mode, it focuses on delivering highly accurate edge imaging of pallets, even in low-light "dark factory" environments or under complex lighting conditions.
With versatile functionality consolidated into a single device, Gemini 435Le significantly reduces customers' hardware costs and simplifies system integration. Users can easily switch modes through a straightforward SDK interface, effectively addressing imaging challenges in emerging, fragmented application scenarios across industries.
For industrial-grade reliability, the Gemini 435Le features IP67 protection against dust and water, passes rigorous electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing, operates stably across a wide temperature range (-10°C to 50°C), and meets ESD Class A standards for vibration and shock resistance—ensuring long-term dependable operation in harsh industrial environments.
"The Gemini 435Le represents another important milestone in our pursuit of industrial-grade 3D vision excellence," said Brad Suessmith, Robotics Sales Manager at Orbbec. "It's not about disrupting for the sake of disruption, but about delivering highly adaptable, high-performance solutions that empower customers to succeed across even the most diverse and fragmented industrial automation scenarios."
Global Channel Network Expansion
As a key element of its global business expansion strategy, Orbbec announced new partnerships with five leading technology distributors, including WDL Systems, at Automate 2025—further strengthening its worldwide 3D vision ecosystem.
"Expanding our global distribution network is a critical step in broadening Orbbec's market reach and enhancing customer support capabilities," said Mike McSweeney, Vice President of Sales at Orbbec. "These new partnerships will help bring our leading 3D vision technology to customers in more regions while providing localized technical support and service."
The Gemini 435Le will be available for order beginning in June 2025. Through these strategic partnerships, Orbbec's Gemini 435Le and other 3D vision products will be more widely available across Europe and North America, offering customers streamlined procurement and technical support services.
During Automate 2025 (May 12-15), Orbbec invites industry professionals to visit Booth #9004 to experience the Gemini 435Le and the company's complete 3D vision product portfolio firsthand. Orbbec technical experts will demonstrate the Gemini 435Le's performance across multiple real-world applications.
In addition to the Gemini 435Le, Orbbec will also showcase its comprehensive 3D vision platform, including a wide range of stereo cameras, LiDAR products, ODM/OEM customization services, and integrated solutions developed in partnership with leading technology providers.
