Mantua, OH -T.J. Davies Co., Inc., an industry leading manufacturer of retention knobs, celebrated their 60th anniversary earlier this year. The 2nd generation family-run manufacturer may be heading into their 7th decade, but they are not resting on their laurels as they continue to invest in new technology and have several new product lines in the offing. Over the past year the company has purchased several new CNC lathes for standard and custom machine components and updated some of their testing equipment. A new Starrett optical comparator allows them to reverse engineer custom components.

"This is an investment in the future and a testament to our belief in American manufacturing," continued Davies. "We continually strive to get better, and the Mazak will help us to achieve that. We're able to machine components from raw bar stock to ready-for-heat treat status around a common axis. That means better concentricity and precision which helps our customers make their products better."

In addition to striving to make the manufacturing community better, Davies and her team are active members of their local community as well. They hosted their first ever Toys for Tots toy drive last year and are already planning how to collect even more toys next season. They also helped aspiring engineers get a firsthand look at engineering when they sponsored the Emerging Engineers summer camp through Kent State University College of Aeronautics and Engineering last summer.
