Panduit Launches FlexCore™ Optical Distribution Frame

Front-access cabling solution offers the ultimate in flexibility, manageability, scalability, and security

TINLEY PARK, Ill. — (March 21, 2022) — Panduit Corp. announces the launch of its new FlexCore™ Optical Distribution Frame [ODF], a versatile front-access cabling system that provides necessary protection for critical connections. Utilizing innovative cable management and simple, intuitive cable routing, the FlexCore ODF simplifies and reduces time for moves, adds, and changes. With standard doors with locks and optional locks for each enclosure, the FlexCore ODF solution enables multi-tiered security that is important for multiple client access.

The FlexCore ODF system can manage up to 3,168 fibers per frame, making it easy to create multiple configurations using just three modular building blocks. This flexibility allows for design customization and scalability while optimizing both product availability and system density. Compared to typical data center cabinets, FlexCore ODF can reduce floor space in a data center by 50%*. In addition, with side panels and doors with locks, the FlexCore ODF solution allows the system to be completely enclosed and secure.

"As the value of each fiber circuit rises exponentially and networks continue to densify, data center managers who demonstrate greater scalability, agility, and resilience will gain a business advantage," stated Stephen Morris, Panduit Senior Product Manager. "FlexCore delivers on all those fronts with its unrivaled manageability, scalability, fiber circuit protection, and security features."

Panduit FlexCore Optical Distribution Frame offers multiple advantages over existing products:

Highly intuitive cable routing paths remove guesswork and prevents ‘rip and replace' costs
Innovative cable management and lockable vertical cable manager doors eliminate circuit risk and downtime
Up to 3,168 fibers per frame when using standard 24 fiber cassettes
Data center floor space can be reduced by 50%*
Simplifies and reduces the time for moves, adds, and changes
Multiple form factor (width) cassettes optimize rack space across wider applications

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
