MANUFACTURING REVOLUTION TO PROMOTE GLOBAL RESILIENCE

27-28 SEP 2018, WORLD MANUFACTURING FORUM: HOW THE INDUSTRIAL TRANSFORMATION INSPIRES EDUCATION, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIETAL IMPACT

The 7th edition of the World Manufacturing Forum - annual meeting will be held in Cernobbio, Italy, on 27-28 September 2018. The WMF global conference, titled ‘Manufacturing Revolution to Promote Global Resilience: how the industrial transformation inspires education, sustainable development and societal impact, intends to explore how industry is responding to the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution and how industrial policies can support education, sustainable development and societal impact.


Invited participants will have the opportunity to hear how visionary industrial policies will support advanced manufacturing from varied social and geographical perspectives with speakers coming from Italy, France, Germany, UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, China and many other countries.

Furthermore, the Forum will facilitate dialogue and cooperation among the manufacturing sectors key players, convening global policy experts, industry leaders from both large multinationals and small and medium-sized enterprises, and top members of the academic community.
During the meeting the first Manufacturing Report will be presented, highlighting the recommendations for policy makers concerning the role of manufacturing as an enabler for redistribution of wealth and well-being in the society. The paper, produced by the WMF Scientific Committee, addresses relevant manufacturing sector issues and outlines the most significant trends, requirements and policies.
The World Manufacturing Forum, which aims at spreading industrial culture within the society,
has recently opened a video competition which will have Industry 4.0 as main topic: the participants are asked
to describe, with a 3 minutes video, the manufacturing and digital revolution. The winner will be awarded a prize of 5 thousand euros.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
