Toronto, ON, September 29, 2025 - The Canadian manufacturing sector will get a glimpse into the future this week as more than 10,000 industry professionals convene in Toronto for four days of technology transfer, learning opportunities and idea generation at the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) 2025 - Canada's national industry event, presented by SME taking place at the Toronto Congress Centre today through October 2.

1:00 p.m. - Opening Keynote: The Resilience Playbook: Geopolitics, AI, Auto, Private Equity, and Advanced Manufacturing for Canada's Future: Flavio Volpe, President of the Automotive Parts Manufacturer's Association (APMA), will unveil how his team is bringing together some of the country's brightest minds to challenge the industry to imagine what it would take for Canada to launch its own car brand - and share why a delivery goal of the early 2030s might not be as far off as it seems.

3:30 p.m. - Featured Presentation: Critical Technologies, Critical Impact: How Ontario is Powering the Next Industrial Transformation: Claudia Krywiak, President and CEO of Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI), will provide an overview of OCI's $50 million Critical Industrial Technologies (CIT) program, and funding and support opportunities available to Ontario manufacturers.
