Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show 2025 to Unveil New Technologies Driving the Future of Canadian Manufacturing
CMTS 2025 gets underway in Toronto on Sept. 29, featuring latest offerings from more than 750 industry suppliers
TORONTO, September 26, 2025 - The future of Canadian manufacturing will take centre stage next week as Canada's leading industry event, the Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS 2025), returns to the Toronto Congress Centre Sept. 29 to Oct. 2, bigger in both size and scope.
Produced by non-profit SME, CMTS is Canada's national industry event, featuring an extensive trade show and conference for advanced manufacturing technologies, cutting-edge equipment, best practices and industry connections. The 2025 show - 20% larger in show floor space - is expected to attract more than 10,000 manufacturing professionals, with more than 750 industry suppliers represented.
Some of the latest technologies to be unveiled at the event include:
•A first-of-its-kind in Canada multi-task machine from Elliott Matsuura, called the Matsuura MX-520T/PC-4 - a five-axes machining centre for both turning and milling functions completed with one set-up and within the same work envelope. The machine will be exhibited with a four-station pallet changer.
•The breakthrough IoT Octopus by Innovate-Ops, a plug-and-play industrial monitoring device that tracks equipment health, energy usage, and operational performance to enable predictive maintenance and efficiency optimization. A leap forward for Canadian manufacturing, the device combines Industrial IoT and AI to predict failures, optimize operations, and decarbonize production, enabling facilities — from advanced automotive plants to legacy operations - to boost innovation, economic resilience, and sustainability.
•The Canadian debut of SCHUNK Intec Corp's groundbreaking Robot PLUS portfolio, featuring advanced tool changers, modular equalizing units, and force/torque sensors designed to optimize flexibility, reduce downtime, and increase system reliability. As a global leader in robotic grippers, toolholding, workholding, and automation, SCHUNK is shaping the future of Canadian manufacturing with precision-engineered solutions that maximize productivity.
•The launch of a "Boots on the Ground" campaign by Proax Technologies, introduced in response to challenges Canadian manufacturers are facing with additional taxes and global trade pressures. By being physically present at customer sites, their team provides hands-on support, tailored automation solutions, and local collaborations that help Canadian companies stay competitive and strengthen the manufacturing sector.
•An innovative, powerful solution in optical 3D metrology by ZEISS Industrial Quality Solutions, called ZEISS ScanPort, which combines accuracy, flexibility, and ease of use in a compact system. This new semi-automated system is designed for users who require reliable metrology results - without the need for extensive training or complex setups. Paired with the comprehensive ZEISS INSPECT software, even complex inspection processes can be performed with just a few clicks - from CAD comparison and mesh editing to trend analysis.
•The new Okuma OSP-P500 CNC Control Simulator by EMEC Machine Tools. This next-generation technology - featuring enhanced usability, modern design, and built-in cybersecurity - redefines performance and reliability on the shop floor, transforming machining operations.
•Mitutoyo's new QM-Fit, a compact, fully automated digital profile projector that delivers fast, repeatable results without setup or specialized training. Using smart recognition software, a high-resolution camera, and intuitive touch-screen operation, QM-Fit instantly captures dimensions and provides pass/fail results in seconds. This breakthrough system makes high-accuracy, non-contact inspection simple and accessible, bringing precision measurement to any desktop.
•The new Modig IM-8 machining centre from Mitcham Machine Tools. With a patented design, a single spindle with up to 200 hp (150 kW) working from below, this high-speed inverted machining center sets a new standard for 5-axis machining. The machine is suitable for industries characterized by large volumes, quick lead times, and high complexity.
