ZYGO TO HIGHLIGHT ADVANCED METROLOGY SOLUTIONS AT W3+ FAIR 2025

As a company dedicated to enabling the advancement of high-precision industries, Zygo will be on hand on stand B1 to engage with engineers, researchers, and decision-makers about how its 3D optical metrology technologies act as powerful enablers of innovation in fields such as MedTech, Life Sciences, Aerospace, Automotive, Consumer Electronics, and Tools & Machinery.

(Middlefield, CT, USA - September 10th, 2025) Zygo™, a business unit of AMETEK®, Inc. and global leader in 3D optical metrology and high-precision engineering solutions, is pleased to announce its participation at W3+ Fair Jena, taking place September 24-25, 2025 in Jena, Germany, a key innovation hub for optics and photonics.

"Zygo's presence at W3+ Jena is about fostering ideas, sharing insight, and helping companies realize the full potential of optical metrology as an enabling technology," said Torsten Glaschke, Sales Manager at Zygo. "Our tools don't just measure, they empower our customers to achieve breakthroughs in precision, speed, and product performance."

At the event Zygo will be showcasing the ZeGage™ Pro HR optical profiler. Unlike other optical surface profilers, the ZeGage Pro HR maintains high precision at all its magnification options, and it is not affected by the environment it operates in. It can be taken out of the QA lab, and placed directly beside production equipment, and still provide precise 3D surface metrology. Built on Zygo's proprietary CSI technology, the ZeGage Pro HR enables precise, reliable, simple, and confident surface metrology efficiently and cost-effectively across a range of industry applications.

Zygo's range of optical profilers and laser interferometers meet the definition of enabling technologies unlocking dramatic leaps in capability. In modern production environments where surface quality, form, and interface integrity are mission-critical, Zygo's metrology solutions deliver the data needed to validate complex parts at speed and with sub-micron / nanometer precision, transforming quality assurance into a strategic advantage.
Zygo invites visitors to stand B1 to meet its team of metrology specialists and learn how its evolving portfolio of solutions continues to drive quality, performance, and efficiency across the most demanding high-tech sectors.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
