Bosch Rexroth Breaks Ground on 50,000-square-foot Facility in Lehigh Valley, PA
The expansion will add 50,000 square feet to Bosch Rexroth’s existing facility, improving lead times for customers and supporting continued growth in the Lehigh Valley.
Bethlehem, PA, August 20, 2025 - Bosch Rexroth, a leading supplier of drive and control technologies, celebrated the groundbreaking of its new expansion project at 2300 City Line Road in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, August 20th. The expansion will add 50,000 square feet to Bosch Rexroth's existing facility, improving lead times for customers and supporting continued growth in the Lehigh Valley.
"This expansion demonstrates that the Lehigh Valley is an anchor for making and moving products, and a place where global companies thrive," said Kristin Cahayla-Hoffman, Vice President of Business Development and Attraction at Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC). "Bosch Rexroth's investment in the Lehigh Valley ensures that opportunity continues to grow for the people of this region, strengthening both our economy and our community."
The project is being constructed by J.G. Petrucci Company, Inc. (Petrucci), a leading Development and Design/Build firm in the region.
"Working closely with Bosch Rexroth to bring this expansion to life has been a rewarding collaboration," said Joe Petrucci, Project Executive at Petrucci. "We are honored to partner with them on this important project and look forward to delivering a facility that will serve their growth for years to come."
Bosch Rexroth's history in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, began in 1967 with a small office in Easton, when the company was known simply as Rexroth. Seven years later, it expanded to a manufacturing facility in Bethlehem Township where it began producing hydraulic components. The company has since grown, including its merger with Robert Bosch GmbH and has become a significant presence in the area and a key part of the Lehigh Valley's industrial landscape. Today, Bosch Rexroth operates multiple facilities in the region, focusing on hydraulics, automation, and additional manufacturing solutions.
"This new addition not only reinforces Bosch Rexroth's long-term dedication to efficiently serving its customers, but also its commitment to Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley," said Rafael Paredes, Bethlehem Site Plant Manager, Bosch Rexroth. "We're proud to grow our operations here, as we have for nearly 60 years, and this facility will play a critical role in our ability to deliver innovative solutions for our customers."
This news follows a wave of recent manufacturing investments in the region. Earlier this summer, Turkish candy maker Kervan USA broke ground on a $20 million, 90,000-square-foot facility in the Lehigh Valley that will consolidate its U.S. headquarters and expand packaging, distribution, and future manufacturing operations. Around the same time, Dutch firm Bronkhorst HighTech opened a new U.S. headquarters and assembly center in the region, doubling its footprint. The facility includes two assembly cells with room to expand, as well as a clean room for high-precision industries, and will serve customers across sectors from petrochemical to food and automotive.
The Lehigh Valley's economy is driven by manufacturing, with an annual output of $9 billion, representing 16% of the region's $55.7 billion Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Nationally, manufacturing accounts for 12% of the GDP.
Construction is expected to be completed in Q2 2026. The project will provide modern, state-of-the-art space designed to support Bosch Rexroth's operations while contributing to the ongoing development of the Lehigh Valley's industrial base.
