Mainline Hire: Streamlining Automated Powered Access Projects

With over 40 years of experience, Mainline Hire have been one of UK leaders when it comes to powered access hire and thanks to streamlined automation hiring processes, they have further expanded their expertise. Their cutting edge solutions empower businesses to improve their efficiency with the use of powered access technology that provides them with ultimate reach no matter the project.

Powered access is the backbone of countless construction, maintenance and installation projects. Managing these projects, especially with a fleet of automated platforms, can quickly become a complex web of scheduling, maintenance, compliance and safety protocols. The good news? Streamlining your automated powered access projects isn't just a possibility; it's a necessity for enhanced efficiency, reduced costs and a safer working environment.

Enhanced powered access project planning becomes possible through intelligent software that analyses site conditions, equipment availability and operator schedules, generating optimised deployment plans and minimising logistical hurdles. Real-time data acquisition from connected powered access platforms provides invaluable insights into equipment utilisation, which allows for proactive interventions and prevents costly downtime.

Automation can also significantly bolster safety protocols by implementing digital pre-checks. This means that using automated processes translates into tangible cost savings through optimised resource allocation. You can then save time and use it elsewhere in the project to speed up the process and complete them within the scheduled amount of time.

The greatest flexibility for Mainline Hire and their clients is provided by the ability to customise powered access equipment rental agreements to fit certain project requirements and timeframes. This flexibility allows manufacturers to adjust their automation capacity as needed, efficiently meeting the ever-changing demands of different clients or projects.

Predictive maintenance and equipment performance optimisation can be made possible if Mainline Hire integrates the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), which enables real-time monitoring and data collection. This can be implemented in the future. This automation solution that can complement human operators and increase productivity without requiring a lot of safety infrastructure, collaborative robots or cobots, are also becoming more and more popular in rental fleets.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
