Vogelsang USA Highlights RotaCut Advanced Grinder Technology for Industrial Applications

Revolutionizing efficiency and protection in the industrial sector

Ravenna, OH - Vogelsang USA, the inventor of the rotary lobe pump with elastomer-coated lobes, highlights the RotaCut®, an innovative cutting technology designed to deliver superior performance, versatility, and reliability. This cutter sets a high standard for cutting, homogenization, and protection in the industrial sector.

In the world of waste grinders, twin-shaft grinders are the most ubiquitous solution. However, that technology only provides a shredding or tearing action. RotaCut is designed to provide a scissor-like cutting action. This ensures solids are cut to consistent particle size and is much better suited for stringy or fibrous materials that are often missed by other grinder technology. Beyond reducing solids, RotaCut also conditions sludges, slurries, and other waste streams, ensuring easier pumping and better performance for your process equipment.

The RotaCut's cutting-edge features address key challenges faced by operators, offering solutions that improve efficiency, reduce maintenance, and protect critical equipment. Its proprietary cutting screen geometry, developed using Vogelsang's in-house software, ensures efficient size reduction and smooth operation. Asymmetric blade rotors and movable cutting blades maintain continuous contact with the cutting screen, enabling reliable processing of even the toughest fibrous materials, such as industrial fibers, grass, and hair.

The integrated heavy material separator safely collects foreign objects like stones and metals, preventing damage to pumps, pipes, and other downstream equipment while ensuring durability and uninterrupted operation. The RotaCut's compact floor plan enables versatile installation, efficient processing and multifunctionality. Additionally, the QuickService design allows for user-friendly maintenance, permitting on-site replacement of cutting tools without removing the cutter head, minimizing downtime.

The RotaCut delivers targeted benefits for industrial applications. It delivers superior homogenization and downstream system protection, making it ideal for food waste processing, abattoirs, and tanker operations. Additionally, customizable options, such as the Automatic Cut Control (ACC), optimize cutting pressure and deliver exceptional performance.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
