Rapid + TCT trade show - Prima Additive arrives in North America

Prima Additive will be present at the Rapid + TCT trade show in Chicago (Booth #1615), the reference event in North America for 3D printing and additive technologies manufacturing.

Chicago, 2-4 May 2023 - Prima Additive, a company of the Prima Industrie group dedicated to metal additive manufacturing technologies, will be present at the Rapid + TCT trade show in Chicago (Booth #1615), the reference event in North America for 3D printing and additive technologies manufacturing.

After five years of activity in the European market, in which it established itself among the main manufacturers of metal additive manufacturing machines with Powder Bed Fusion and Directed Energy Deposition technologies, Prima Additive is now ready to offer its solutions also on the North American market.

Among the characteristics that have contributed to the success of Prima Additive products is their high technological content, in particular the use of innovative laser sources. In fact, in addition to infrared lasers, Prima Additive is among the few manufacturers to also offer Powder Bed Fusion solutions equipped with green lasers: the best solution for processing pure copper, precious metals, and other highly reflective materials. The green laser is available both as a single source hosted on a machine, as in the case of the Print Green 150 and as a source combined with an infrared one, as in the case of the Print Genius 150 Double Wavelength, which represents a unique solution on the market, equipped with an infrared and a green laser that can be used alternately depending on the applications.
Prima Additive also offers solutions designed for productivity such as the Print 300 family, which features elements that allow process automation and can accommodate up to 4 lasers to reduce component manufacturing time on a work area of 330 x 330 x 400 mm.

From the point of view of Directed Energy Deposition technology, Prima Additive's offer boasts both a robotic solution, the IANUS cell presented in 2022, and 5-axis machines based on the architecture of Prima Power's 3D cutting systems. From a technological point of view, various configurations are available, including: the REAL DED configuration designed for high productivity, the one with a thin laser spot for high-precision applications with excellent surface quality, and the one equipped with gas shielding for processing highly reactive materials such as the titanium. Even in the case of Direct Energy Deposition, infrared lasers are not the only ones available, but there is also the possibility of equipping the machines with a blue laser source, for greater quality and repeatability on highly reflective alloys.
In the last year, Prima Additive has also added to its offering wire-based Directed Energy Deposition as well as other laser processes outside the additive spectrum such as laser welding and laser hardening.

The company's mission has always been to make metal additive manufacturing an increasingly competitive technology, lowering entry barriers through particularly efficient systems in terms of operating costs, through partnerships with universities and research institutions and, above all, through a suite of services that allow complete application support to all those who want to approach this technology, providing all the consultancy necessary to exploit additive manufacturing to its full potential.

Prima Additive experts will therefore be available to visitors to the Rapid + TCT exhibition in Chicago from May 2 to 4, at booth #1615 to exhibit the full range of technologies and services available.

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

The FLIR Si1-LD is an easy-to-use acoustic imaging camera for locating and quantifying pressurized leaks in compressed air systems. This lightweight, one-handed camera is designed to help maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering professionals identify air leaks faster than with traditional methods. Built with a carefully constructed array of MEMS microphones for high sensitivity, the Si1-LD produces a precise acoustic image that visually displays ultrasonic information, even in loud, industrial environments. The acoustic image is overlaid in real time on a digital image, allowing you to accurately pinpoint the source of the sound, with onboard analytics which quantify the losses being incurred. The Si1-LD features a plugin that enables you to import acoustic images to FLIR Thermal Studio suite for offline editing, analysis, and advanced report creation. Field analysis and reporting can also be done using the FLIR Acoustic Camera Viewer cloud service. Transferring of images can be managed via memory stick or USB data cable. Through a regular maintenance routine, the FLIR Si1-LD can help facilities reduce their environmental impact and save money on utility bills.
