CRP Technology speaker and exhibitor at 2020 Pocketqube Workshop virtual edition
CRP Technology will be attending for the first time Alba Orbital's PocketQube Workshop 2020 as speaker and virtual exhibitor. The 2020 edition will be held online from the 8th to 9th of October 2020.
On Oct 8th, over Zoom cloud platform, starting at 16:50 to 17:10 (BST), CRP Technology will be presenting the paper: "Composite Additive Materials for NanoSats' manufacturing".
The paper will be highlighting the challenges related to making nanosatellite missions successful.
The advantages of using professional 3D printing and composite Carbon-or Glass-reinforced materials for the construction of nanosatellites structures will be discussed. Will be also shared an overview of some space missions that marked a new milestone in the 3D printed small satellite arena, such as Alba Pod V2, the 3D printed deployer for the world's most advanced picosatellites by Alba Orbital.

During the two-days virtual event, all the attendees will be able to reach CRP Technology's virtual exhibition page to read and download some technical material concerning CRP Technology's contribution to the increased use of 3D printing in the Aero field. A chat link hosted by CRP Technology team will be active to enable participants to jump into conversation with CRP Technology AM specialist staff.
The 4th Annual PocketQube workshop is an international conference addressing the technical challenges associated with developing PocketQube technology for widening space access, shaping the future of space democratisation in the process. The PocketQube workshop provides a unique forum for collaboration between industry professionals, academic researchers and students who are developing the new and rapidly growing field of picosatellites. It is an opportunity to explore PocketQube technology, as the two day workshop brings together World leading innovators from the PocketQube community and will cover all areas for PocketQube developers.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs
Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
