SAP® INTEGRATION FOR ONSHAPE ENABLES END-TO-END PRODUCT INNOVATION IN A CLOUD ENVIRONMENT

Stuttgart, November 5, 2018 - IT consulting and software company CENIT will be at this years PI PLMx Conference in Chicago to showcase the new cenitCONNECT Onshape-SAP Integration - a solution to facilitate seamless business processes in product design and manufacturing in distributed, cloud based environments.

Onshape, the leading 3D cloud CAD platform, enables the next level of collaboration in product design and innovation. Through its unique "design anywhere" capabilities without any installed desktop software, teams and individuals can form flexible teams regardless of their members geographic location to jointly develop products.

To ensure digital continuity, Onshape CAD designs need to be exposed to and integrated with downstream business processes in SAP. The cenitCONNECT Onshape-SAP Integration accomplishes exactly that. Onshapes product structure and part information is synchronized to SAP S/4HANA®, the leading SAP application suite for supply chain management and enterprise resource planning. A seamless and deep integration into these business processes has been recognized as a key value driver in product design and manufacturing.

The cenitCONNECT Onshape-SAP Integration is developed based on the SAP Cloud Platform and its versatile technology for the connection to other cloud environments or on premise SAP systems.

cenitCONNECT Onshape-SAP Integration Solution
The new cenitCONNECT Onshape-SAP Integration complements the cenitCONNECT suite of products for advanced process management and integration into SAP. It is deployed on the SAP Cloud Platform with a synchronization app for Onshape and a connector for SAP S/4HANA. The synchronization of Onshape product structure and part information to SAP enables critical business processes, e.g. in procurement and manufacturing planning. Also, the integration facilitates collaboration and exchange with conventional CAD environments based on the SAP Engineering Control Center.
