Brooks Instrument to Exhibit at ISPE Boston 2018

Booth highlights to include newly enhanced SLA5800 Series Biotech mass flow controller designed to help reduce bioprocessing complexity and costs

HATFIELD, PA. (August 29, 2018) - Brooks Instrument, a world leader in advanced flow, pressure, vacuum and vapor delivery solutions, will showcase its newly enhanced SLA5800 Series Biotech mass flow controller (MFC), along with other flow control instrumentation for the biotech industry at the ISPE Boston Product Show. The annual show takes place September 26 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts.

The ISPE Product Show is the premier one-day biopharmaceutical show in the Northeast United States, and the flagship event for the Boston Area chapter of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering. Brooks Instrument will be in exhibit space E12.

The companys SLA5800 Series Biotech MFC is designed specifically to help bioprocessing original equipment manufacturers (OEM) reduce system costs, while helping end-users to reduce purchasing complexity and lower inventory requirements for carrying spare MFCs. In addition, with its use of ADI-free USP Class VI elastomers, the SLA5800 Series Biotech MFC supports emerging regulatory requirements for materials.

SLA5800 Series Biotech MFC models will be available with optional high-speed EtherNet/IP™ digital communications protocol, which enables exclusive real-time MFC diagnostics and provides a pathway for predictive modeling and analytics.

Brooks Instrument will also showcase other instrumentation products and technology that solve critical gas chemistry control challenges for the biopharmaceutical industry:

• GF40 Series elastomer-sealed MFCs and flow meters with Brooks Instrument MultiFlo™ technology for systems, processes and facilities that use a variety of gases, change gas types frequently, or need to re-range while preserving gas measurement and control accuracy

• Quantim® Coriolis MFCs and flow meters with a patented Coriolis sensor design to measure and control low flows, independent of fluid type or process variables

• Sho-Rate™ Series glass tube variable area flow meters for industry-leading repeatability and reliability in a cost-effective design to meet OEM requirements for systems that need metering and analyzer integrators

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
