VISION Award 2018: Call for visionaries

Innovative companies still have the chance to submit machine vision developments until 20 July

The closing date for submissions to the VISION Award 2018 is 20 July 2018. Warren Clark, Managing Director of Imaging and Machine Vision Europe and award sponsor, is already looking forward to the submissions: "We are very proud to continue our association with innovation in the industry as sponsor of the VISION Award. Our platform supports and celebrates all that is new and exciting in this vibrant market."

The jury of experts traditionally draws up a short list of the most interesting developments, which are published on the VISION website and featured in an abridged version in the VISION catalogue. The winner of the award, which is worth € 5,000, also has the opportunity to present themselves and their innovation at the official VISION 2018 press conference.

The VISION Award will be presented for the 23rd time at VISION 2018 in November, and thus looks back on a tradition that is almost as long as the world's leading machine vision trade fair itself. "The award reflects the great innovative power and increasing relevance of the machine vision sector - it pays tribute to visionary developments that make lasting impression on industry," says Florian Niethammer, Project Manager of VISION, the world's leading machine vision trade fair.

About VISION
VISION, the world's leading machine vision trade fair, will take place this year from 6 to 8 November in Stuttgart. Held every two years, the trade fair covers the entire spectrum of machine vision technology. Besides prestigious exhibitors, the fair is also distinguished by a highly international flair and varied accompanying programme: an established fixture at the trade fair again this year is "Industrial VISION Days", the world's largest lecture forum for machine vision. Additional highlights include the "Integration Area", the special show on the "International Machine Vision Standards" under the aegis of the EMVA, and the IPC4 Vision booth showcasing industrial PCs (IPCs).

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
