The worlds premier automated solution compatible with aseptic environments for drug manufacturing processes improves efficiencey and patient safety

DUNCAN, S.C. (March 08, 2018) - Stäublis groundbreaking Stericlean series of robots will celebrate 10 years of improving efficiency and the quality of patient care at the International Pharmaceutical Expo (INTERPHEX), scheduled to be held at the Javits Center in New York City April 14-19.

First launched in 2008, Stäublis TX Stericlean series was the worlds first robot designed to operate in aseptic production areas (Advanced Aseptic Processing). Stäubli (booth #1857) also will showcase its dynamic TX2 line of collaborative robots, a new generation of robots designed with the smart factory and Industry 4.0/Lab 4.0 in mind. Stäublis TX2 robots are capable of communicating with each other and adapting production and processes to meet changing needs with unparalleled flexibility.

"This year marks the tenth anniversary of the launch of the first-ever Stericlean series, which has revolutionized the way automated solutions are implemented in a variety of complex medical tasks," said Sebastien Schmitt, Robotics Division Manager, North America, Stäubli. "Because drug makers and hospitals must abide by the highest safety standards Stäublis TX Stericlean series offers the absolute best option to ensure accuracy, efficiency and patient safety."

Stäubli robots are used in a wide variety of tasks including in laboratory settings for cell culturing and microplate screening; in hospitals for IV bag or syringe compounding; in drug manufacturing for the filling and packaging of vials and syringes; and in medical device assembly, machining, coating and inspection.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
