Balluff's New High Resolution Measurement Laser Sensor with IO-Link

Reliable measurement and positioning with simple integration

Balluff is pleased to announce the release of the new family of BOD 24K distance measuring sensors. Configuration can be accomplished either directly via IO-Link or from the built-in display. This sensor family enhances Balluff's industry leading portfolio of photoelectric sensors which includes all standard sensing modes including miniature sensors in a wide variety of housing sizes and materials.

"The BOD 24K family satisfies the increasing demand for precise optical measurement," shares Jack Moermond, Balluff Inc Photoelectric Product Marketing Manager, "with a sensing range up to 650mm. In addition, the IO-Link diagnostics functions enable preventative maintenance to ensure the highest productivity." As an alternative to IO-Link, analog interfaces (voltage and current) as well as discrete switching outputs are available that can also be set up from the integrated display.

With IO-Link, simple installation and easy controls integration translates to cost savings for machine builders on design, build, & commissioning; while manufacturers see a value in the ability to hot-swap smart sensors via automatic parameterization functionality. The BOD 24K family was designed to fit into a wide variety of industries from automotive, machine tool and packaging to factory automation.

Great flexibility through many configuration options via IO-Link or display
Simple, cost-saving installation and wiring with intuitive menu guidance
Compact, rigid housing with IP67 protection, ECOLAB tested

Reduced downtime and more stable operation through online configuration, diagnostics, and condition information over IO-Link
