3D Systems to Demonstrate GibbsCAM at Precision Machining Technology Show

CNC programming software features over 1,800 unique post-processors for multi-task machines

MOORPARK, California, Feb 14, 2017 - 3D Systems announced today that it will be showcasing its GibbsCAM CNC programming software at the Precision Machining Technology Show (PMTS) in April. 3D Systems GibbsCAM exhibit and demonstrations will focus on programming, simulation and post-processing for standard and Swiss-style multi-tasking machines (MTMs), which are increasingly popular in precision and production environments. PMTS will be held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, in Columbus, Ohio, April 25-27. 3D Systems will host GibbsCAM demonstrations in booth 804.

GibbsCAM MTM software provides all the turning and multi-axis milling functions for programming MTMs in a single, shop-friendly interface. The GibbsCAM Machine Simulation module helps ensure accurate, reliable and efficient tool motion before sending CNC programs to the machine. GibbsCAM also features a library of over 1,800 post-processors to support the growing variety of standard and Swiss-style MTMs from nearly 100 manufacturers. Each post-processor has been uniquely developed for a specific combination of MTM machine, machine options, machine control and shop-process preference.

3D Systems GibbsCAM began programming MTMs when the machines were first introduced, and has remained at the forefront of programming these complex machines to this day. MTMs combine complex lathe and milling functions using dual or multiple spindles, with Y-axis and live tooling on one or more milling heads. The combined operations eliminate handling and setup errors and reduce overall production time. Equipped with automatic bar feeders and part catchers, MTMs are often operated unattended, lights out, and GibbsCAMs ability to program and post-process for all the functions and auxiliary operations makes it the ideal programming system for MTMs.

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

The FLIR Si1-LD is an easy-to-use acoustic imaging camera for locating and quantifying pressurized leaks in compressed air systems. This lightweight, one-handed camera is designed to help maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering professionals identify air leaks faster than with traditional methods. Built with a carefully constructed array of MEMS microphones for high sensitivity, the Si1-LD produces a precise acoustic image that visually displays ultrasonic information, even in loud, industrial environments. The acoustic image is overlaid in real time on a digital image, allowing you to accurately pinpoint the source of the sound, with onboard analytics which quantify the losses being incurred. The Si1-LD features a plugin that enables you to import acoustic images to FLIR Thermal Studio suite for offline editing, analysis, and advanced report creation. Field analysis and reporting can also be done using the FLIR Acoustic Camera Viewer cloud service. Transferring of images can be managed via memory stick or USB data cable. Through a regular maintenance routine, the FLIR Si1-LD can help facilities reduce their environmental impact and save money on utility bills.
