NEXCOM IoT Gateways Solve the Last Mile Gap for Industry 4.0

NEXCOM CPS IoT gateways allow for the fast implementation of remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and other Industry 4.0 scenarios alike.

NEXCOM CPS IoT gateways offer a simple turnkey solution to solve the gap between the control layer and the management layer of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Designed with edge computing capability, fieldbus accessibility, and cloud connectivity, NEXCOMs CPS IoT gateways enable system integration engineers and machine builders to assign downlinks and uplinks within a fraction of time by leveraging drag-n-drop operations and built-in functions. With setup and configuration processes streamlined, the CPS IoT gateways allow for the fast implementation of remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, and other Industry 4.0 scenarios alike.

NEXCOM CPS series is composed of application-ready IoT gateways that are easy to deploy and configure. The CPS series can interface with industrial control systems and a wide variety of PLCs over PROFIBUS, PROFINET and EtherNet/IP protocols, and field devices and sensors via OPC UA, Modbus TCP/RTU and serial signals. Moreover, SQLite and MySQL databases, HTTP, and HTML are supported for uplink connections over wired and wireless networks. Included with NEXCOM Industrial IoT Studio--a configuration tool with a graphical user interface (GUI) where functions including fieldbus communications, network connectivity, and cloud support are pre-integrated--the CPS series can start collecting, processing, and transferring data after a few drags and drops of function nodes.

In a remote monitoring application, the CPS series can keep manufacturers updated with the latest production progress by amassing field data from the control layer, parsing data streams, and sending extracted information to cloud platforms where information is presented in charts and diagrams. Preventive maintenance is another practical use of the CPS IoT gateways which can keep a log of machine health status, email or text system engineers a summary via web services at regular intervals, and alert engineers when a monitored parameter falls outside an acceptable range, instead of swamping the engineers with minute-by-minute data of every machine.

NEXCOM CPS IoT gateways are pre-installed with NEXCOM Industrial IoT Studio and available in two models. The high-performance CPS 200 with quad-core Intel® Celeron® processor J1900, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of SSD is targeted at data-intensive applications demanding computing power for parallel data processing and large data storage for data logging. Meanwhile, the rugged CPS 100 designed for harsh operating environments supports an extended temperature range from -20°C to 65°C and ships with dual-core Intel® Atom processor E3805, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
