Basler Joins 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation

As the first camera manufacturer in the member group, Basler supports the platform in bringing together the fields of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) and establishing 5G in the industrial sector.

Ahrensburg, January 28, 2022 - Basler AG, a leading supplier of computer vision products, has joined the 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation (5G-ACIA). The company is the first from the machine vision sector to support the initiative.


The Alliance aims to bring together various industries from the Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) sectors to develop standards for 5G. This is intended to promote further technological development and simplify cooperation between different IT/OT providers across industries and national borders.
