Belden Launches New M12 Push Pull Connectors

IEC 61076-2-010 M12 Push Pull Connectors Guarantee Secure Contacting

Venlo, The Netherlands - September 19, 2024 - Belden, a leading global supplier of network infrastructure and digitization solutions, today announced the release of its new Lumberg Automation Inner M12 Push Pull Connectors, which conform to International Electrotechnical (IEC) standard 61076-2-010. Featuring a secure, fast-locking contacting method, the M12 Push Pull Connectors are optimal for use in harsh environments to prevent accidental disconnects that cause downtime, disrupt data gathering or create safety hazards.

As enterprises pursue digital transformation, connecting more operational technology (OT) devices and information technology (IT) systems empowers them to collect and transfer more data, promote uptime and gain operational efficiency. The M12 Push Pull Connector answers the call with its simple, secure contacting method and portfolio of X-coded, D-coded and A-coded variants to meet a wide range of industrial and transportation use cases.

The M12 Push Pull Connectors offer powerful benefits, including:
• Innovative new technology that ensures secure contact without tools for torque even in tight spaces, such as on input/output (IO) modules or switches.
• Simplified installation and maintenance by eliminating the need to screw in connectors, which reduces installation time by up to 80%.
• Exceptional ingress protection and vibration resistance to withstand the demands of harsh transportation and industrial environments.

"Today's industrial, transportation and automation environments demand continuous uptime and dependable data collection from OT equipment," said Artjom Bil, Product Manager at Belden. "The M12 Push Pull Connector provides the fast, guaranteed secure contacting enterprises need for reliable connectivity - with no tools or screwing required. The connectors are ideal for tight spaces and use in the field, and meet standards for vibration, salt spray, welding spark, chemical and external force resistance to withstand challenging conditions."

The M12 Push Pull Connector meets the stringent demands of several sectors, including railway rolling stock, harbors, intralogistics organizations, supply chain and material handling operations, and classic automation environments.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
