Flexpipe Empowers Manufacturers with the Launch of Its Lean Maker Academy for Modular Systems

Flexpipe's Free Lean Maker Academy is the First Online Certification Program to Teach Workers How to Assemble Modular System Equipment for Lean Manufacturing

Today, Flexpipe, a manufacturer and distributor of steel modular framing structures and material handling systems used predominantly in lean manufacturing applications, announced the launch of its free Lean Maker Academy, the first online certification program designed to teach workers to assemble modular system equipment for lean manufacturing.

The Academy allows manufacturing engineers, lean and continuous improvement (CI) experts, and production maintenance workers in industries like automotive, aerospace, medical, packaging, and others to improve their processes while reducing costs.

"Flexpipe's Lean Maker Academy is all about empowering your workers so they can be autonomous," said Julien Depelteau, chief executive officer, Flexpipe. "The Academy helps them work safely and efficiently to create any structure needed in lean manufacturing. Train as many people as you want on a schedule that meets their needs and yours."

The online program with video lessons empowers workers to learn what they need to know at their own pace. The first program available teaches the tube and joint (tubular) system. Whether manufacturers use Flexpipe or another tubular system, the Academy provides all the knowledge needed to start designing and assembling tube and joint structures.

"The Lean Maker Academy not only transforms participants from novices to experts but also guides them in establishing a dedicated workshop for rapid responses to kaizen and continuous improvement requirements," Depelteau continued.

The interactive lessons include quizzes to validate the participant's learnings. Participants earn a certificate upon program completion. Certifications for additional modular systems, such as aluminum extrusions, will be added in the future.

Companies trained by Flexpipe include Bullfrog, Pratt & Whitney, USPS, and many others.

Pricing and availability

The certification program is free. Register at https://academy.flexpipeinc.com/. Trainees can learn at their own pace as all the lessons are online and may be accessed at any time.

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

The FLIR Si1-LD is an easy-to-use acoustic imaging camera for locating and quantifying pressurized leaks in compressed air systems. This lightweight, one-handed camera is designed to help maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering professionals identify air leaks faster than with traditional methods. Built with a carefully constructed array of MEMS microphones for high sensitivity, the Si1-LD produces a precise acoustic image that visually displays ultrasonic information, even in loud, industrial environments. The acoustic image is overlaid in real time on a digital image, allowing you to accurately pinpoint the source of the sound, with onboard analytics which quantify the losses being incurred. The Si1-LD features a plugin that enables you to import acoustic images to FLIR Thermal Studio suite for offline editing, analysis, and advanced report creation. Field analysis and reporting can also be done using the FLIR Acoustic Camera Viewer cloud service. Transferring of images can be managed via memory stick or USB data cable. Through a regular maintenance routine, the FLIR Si1-LD can help facilities reduce their environmental impact and save money on utility bills.
