AMI Announces VP of Smart Manufacturing Programs

Larry Megan, Ph.D. Hired to Lead Digital Manufacturing Strategies

Clearwater, Fla. — September 8, 2020. Advanced Manufacturing International, Inc. (AMI), a Manufacturing Technology Deployment Group, Inc. (MTDG) subsidiary, announces that Larry Megan, Ph.D. has joined the organization as its Vice President of Smart Manufacturing Programs, effective immediately. Dr. Megan will report directly to AMI CEO Stephan Biller, Ph.D.

"He is incredibly skilled at developing and scaling digital solutions across all segments of manufacturing, including operations, supply chain and logistics, business and sales processes, and B2B customer engagement. Dr. Megan brings more than two decades of smart manufacturing knowledge. He has extensive experience leading complex smart manufacturing initiatives, ensuring digital manufacturing strategies are fulfilled. As VP of Smart Manufacturing Programs, Dr. Megan will lead AMI's efforts to assist manufacturers in transitioning to advanced digital manufacturing technologies and processes.
Also in this capacity, Dr. Megan will work closely with Dan Nagy, VP of International Programs, who is transitioning to AMI from NCDMM, to cultivate partnerships with key solutions providers and identify international customers who could benefit from AMI's expertise. Together, Dr. Megan and Mr. Nagy will develop and create partnerships with end manufacturers in order to meet the digital manufacturing needs of all manufacturers, particularly the unique needs of small to medium-sized ones.

Prior to joining AMI, Dr. Megan previously held numerous positions of increasing responsibility at Linde (formerly Praxair). Most recently, he served as Senior Director where he excelled at bridging the interface between business and technology to deliver strategic direction and new innovations for both internal business units and external customers. Previously, Dr. Megan was the Head of Praxair Digital, in which he collaborated with the executive leadership team to oversee the organization's global digitization strategy and product portfolio.

Dr. Megan currently serves on the Governance Board of the Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute and the Founder's Council for EWI's Buffalo Manufacturing Works. He is also very involved at the University of Buffalo where he serves in various capacities, including on the Industrial Engineering Department Advisory Council; an Industrial Lead for the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Partnership; and a Board Member of the School of Education Teacher Residency Program.
Dr. Megan holds both a bachelor's degree and a doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and the University of Connecticut, respectively. He also holds four patents and has published many peer-reviewed papers.
