Fast Radius Wins 2019 Chicago Innovation Award for ?Making the Unmakeable with Advanced Manufacturing Technology
Fast Radius was honored at the 18th annual Chicago Innovation Awards, held Oct. 28 at the Harris Theatre by the Executive's Club of Chicago. Fast Radius, a leading manufacturing technology company located in the West Loop, was honored as one of ten companies leading innovation in new products and services in the Chicago region.
Fast Radius helps make new things possible for today's leading product companies - whether that's unlocking new business models through advanced manufacturing or making formerly "unmakeable" products.
"We are honored by this recognition by our colleagues and neighbors within the Chicago technology and business community," said Lou Rassey, Founder and CEO of Fast Radius.
The team at Fast Radius has a long history in Chicago, with Rassey and other current members of the executive staff first collaborating to help bring MxD (formerly the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute) to Chicago in 2015. Within its state-of-the-art headquarters in the West Loop, Fast Radius is building a disruptive production model, fueled by a combination of the latest in additive manufacturing technologies and proprietary software that enables a digital thread across a product's manufacturing cycle.
Fast Radius' headquarters was named one of the world's nine most innovative factories in 2018, also known as a "manufacturing lighthouse," by the World Economic Forum—
the only North American company to receive this recognition. The factory includes industrial-grade additive manufacturing technologies like HP Multi Jet Fusion and Carbon Digital Light Synthesis, which helps the company serve customers across verticals including automotive, industrial, aerospace and consumer products.
Fast Radius announced a $48M funding round in April 2019 led by UPS and Drive Capital.
