DuPont and German RepRap are pleased to announce that customers can now purchase DuPontâ„¢ Hytrel® thermoplastic elastomers and DuPontâ„¢ Zytel® nylon-based filaments for 3D printing in EMEA through German RepRap. Both companies are collaborating to bring advanced process technology and new materials to the market, providing new manufacturing options to various industrial sectors.
The expansion of these high-performance materials into the realm of 3D printing enable users to achieve the true benefits of 3D printing (greater design freedom, lightweighting, reduced product development cycles and much more), allowing for rapid prototyping, part production, tooling and customization.
"With these new high performance 3D filaments open for all printers and the know-how of industrial 3D printing of German RepRap, Fused Filament Fabrication makes a step forward to become a credible manufacturing option for functional components," says Ernst Poppe, New Business Development Manager EMEA, DuPont.
"We are looking forward to expanding our filament portfolio with the new high-performance materials from DuPont. The tests have shown that the materials can be processed brilliantly on our machines and allow customers to produce functional parts with outstanding technical properties," says Florian Bautz, Managing Director of German RepRap.
DuPont Performance Materials (DPM) will show these materials and printed parts at the Fakuma trade fair in Friedrichshafen (17th to 21st of October 2017). Printing will take place during the show with a German RepRap 3D printer.
