Aalberts integrated piping systems highlights range of “Apollo”® API-607 fire-safe valves

Portfolio delivers proven fire safety and regulatory compliance for industrial and utility applications

Aalberts integrated piping systems (IPS), a global leader in advanced integrated piping systems for the distribution and control of liquids and gasses, highlights "Apollo"® Valves API-607 fire-safe valves, engineered for protection and resilient performance in industrial environments. The API-607 certification, developed by the American Petroleum Institute, is recognized worldwide as the premier fire-test standard for quarter-turn valves. "Apollo"® fire-safe valves consistently demonstrate the ability to minimize leakage during and after fire exposure, ensuring containment, regulatory compliance, and peace of mind.

Each API-607 certified valve within the"Apollo"® product family is designed for situations where non-metallic sealing elements such as PTFE or elastomers may be destroyed by extreme heat. These valves employ robust secondary sealing mechanisms, including graphite seals and metal-to-metal contact, which automatically engage once the primary soft seats are compromised. Such engineered redundancy preserves crucial system integrity and valuable response time in emergencies.

The "Apollo"® API-607 fire-safe product portfolio includes the 87A and 88A flanged ball valves, offered in stainless steel, carbon steel, and specialty alloys with sizes up to 12 inches. These models feature advanced safety elements such as a blowout-proof stem, anti-static grounding, chevron-style adjustable stem seals, and a two-position locking device for efficient operation. Rated for up to 250 psi saturated steam, depending on class or option, these valves excel in applications involving natural gas, compressed air, and steam service. With the -24 fire-safe option, they meet 5th and 6th edition API-607 standards.

Complementing the flanged offerings, the 83A-140 carbon steel 3 piece full port ball valve is built with a rugged carbon steel body and stainless steel trim, enclosed fasteners, and a swing-out center section for easy maintenance. The fire-safe design ensures resilience over a wide operating range, including vacuum service down to 29 Hg and 150 psi of saturated steam, making these valves ideal for vacuum, compressed air, steam, cooling, and heating applications.

The high-performance 215 and 230 Series double-offset butterfly valves, available in wafer or lug body designs, extend durability and versatility to the control of liquids, gases, and steam. Stainless steel models are fire-safe certified, using graphite seals, robust disc construction, and a 17-4PH stem. Ranging in sizes from 2 to 36 inches, these valves enable bi-directional dead-end service at full pressure and temperature ratings, supporting diverse installations in natural gas, compressed air, HVAC, water treatment, marine, and other industrial processes. The compact design, ease of operation, multi-bolt retainer, and high-efficiency performance set them apart for system reliability and easy maintenance.
