IMTS has many educational sessions & demo’s, is your company involved in any of them this year?

We are not involved directly in any sessions or demo’s at IMTS this year but we will have a robot from FANUC demonstrating the abilities of our products. Our cables will be integrated with a Robotec Systems dress pack.

When you get a chance to walk the exhibit hall floor yourself, what is it you will be most interested to see?  Any educational sessions you plan on attending?

The most interesting thing we will be looking for, is how other companies and competitors, will be displaying their products to clients and how they display their products. Also, what new technologies the competitors are bringing to the market.

When you book a booth for a tradeshow like this what are your expectations and what does your company hope to accomplish at the event?

We are hoping to get a lot of facetime with potential customers by hosting meetings that are booked in advance and bring in potential customers from the show floor. We want to show them our capabilities and how we can assist them with their cabling requirements.

A tradeshow of this magnitude is extremely busy and stressful for the staff of exhibiting companies.  Any fun things or places your team can suggest in Chicago to help unwind?

Just a few miles North of McCormick Place, on the top floor of the Chicago Athletic Association, you will find Cindy’s Rooftop bar. With uninterrupted views of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan, Cindy’s is a great place to unwind after a long day at IMTS.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
