Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. Launches Advanced Anti-Clogging Pump Panel System

FreeFlow is a pre-engineered and fully configurable panel system created for pumping applications where advanced pump control and the need to reduce energy consumption are highly desirable.

Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. has announced its latest pre-engineered solution for pumping applications within water/wastewater, oil and gas, and deep well irrigation industries. FreeFlow is a cost-effective panel solution with advanced pump control capabilities. It is designed to address the challenges of aging infrastructure, frequent pump failures caused by clogs, and the need to reduce energy consumption.

FreeFlow is designed with ease of use, implementation, and superior functionality in mind. It can be built in single or dual-drive configurations, allowing a customer to achieve a tailored, pre-engineered solution. Available, in industry standard horsepower increments of 5HP through 250HP, FreeFlow can be configured with NEMA 3R or NEMA 12 enclosure and has a number of communication and accessory options.

FreeFlow utilizes Mitsubishi Electric's FR-F800 VFD, recognized for its anti-clogging and energy-reducing capabilities and auto-tuning features. These features help to reduce the need for manual declogging of pumps, offering a reduction in energy consumption, and enables faster implementation by reducing programming time. FreeFlow panels also include the GT2500 Series HMI for programming, system data visualization, data logging, troubleshooting, and manual storage. Lastly, FreeFlow utilizes Mitsubishi Electric's FX5 PLC to enable advanced pump control beyond the capabilities offered by the VFD, such as applications that require redundancy and the necessity to switch over to a back-up pump should the main unit fail.

"FreeFlow represents a technology leap in advanced pump control for pre-engineered panel systems. The panel comes standard with a 2-year warranty. The included VFD has an extended warranty of 5 years with Mitsubishi Electric Automation's start-up services," said David Simak, Product Manager (Service), at Mitsubishi Electric Automation.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
