SAE International Symposium Will Feature Latest Advances and Innovations in 3D Printing and Associated Technologies

The SAE 2016 Additive Manufacturing Symposium will offer the latest innovations, technical advances, products, applications and market issues related to 3D printing and additive manufacturing (AM) technologies and processes.

The SAE 2016 Additive Manufacturing Symposium will offer the latest innovations, technical advances, products, applications and market issues related to 3D printing and additive manufacturing (AM) technologies and processes. The symposium will be held June 14-15 at the Knoxville Marriott in Knoxville, TN.

Attendees will network with the diverse community working on AM and with the manufacturers that implement and use AM. They will identify new applications and potential new product design opportunities PLUS gain an understanding about designing products for AM.
The SAE 2016 Additive Manufacturing Symposium presents:
Projects and business cases in AM—solutions realized through the implementation of the technology
Features and benefits and capabilities of 3D industrial-type printers
Designing for 3D—how and why it is different and the implications
Development and specifications in AM materials
Status and activities in AM standards development
How and why AM will affect your product development, testing, quality assurance, and manufacturing

Using AI to Collect & Leverage Data

Using AI to Collect & Leverage Data

Data is the foundation of Industry 4.0. While skilled workers will always be essential, data is reshaping the manufacturing landscape, enabling automation of repetitive tasks, empowering smarter decision-making with AI assistance, and reducing defects and downtime. This shift allows small and medium-sized manufacturers (SMMs) to compete more effectively on quality, speed, and cost. While AI and machine learning systems typically require around two years to collect enough data to reach their full potential, manufacturers can start seeing benefits almost immediately with basic analysis tools and dashboards. Our MEP National NetworkTM expert explains how in this Manufacturing Tomorrow article.
