Innovative Technologies, Precision and Flexibility: Comau’s Automation for the Aerospace Sector
This globally significant event brings together companies, professionals, and organizations from the sector to discuss technological advancements and market trends, fostering new collaborations and business opportunities.
Reinforcing its strong focus on technological and process innovation for the aerospace industry, Comau is taking part in the 55th edition of the International Paris Air Show, held from June 16 to 22 at the Le Bourget Exhibition Center in Paris. This globally significant event brings together companies, professionals, and organizations from the sector to discuss technological advancements and market trends, fostering new collaborations and business opportunities.
With a solid presence in France—where it operates from its Trappes and Castres facilities with over 300 employees and long-standing expertise in automation, machining, and advanced robotics—Comau is participating in the show as a guest at the Occitanie Region pavilion (Hall A, Stand AB 134). The company is using the opportunity of the International Paris Air Show to highlight its commitment to innovation and its role in supporting businesses of all sizes by showcasing its latest solutions for highly specialized sectors such as aerospace and space. These include high-speed, low-payload robots for unstructured environments, wearable robotics devices to assist with strenuous tasks, and highly flexible machining systems for large components.
Among the highlights is the Racer-3, a powerful and fast 6-axis articulated robot with a 3 kg payload, ranked among the fastest in its class. Thanks to its high rigidity, precision, and intuitive interface, it is ideal for versatile applications requiring top accuracy and speed in compact spaces—such as handling, assembly, dispensing, packaging, and testing.
Visitors can also try out Comau's MATE-XT and MATE-XB wearable robotic exoskeletons—designed for the upper limbs and lumbar area, respectively—which help reduce muscle strain and improve operator ergonomics during repetitive and prolonged tasks.
Accompanying these innovations is a presentation video on Smart Reach, an advanced system developed in France that combines precision, agility, and sustainability with up to 40% energy savings. It is a new-generation 5-axis CNC machine tool designed for machining large structural components made of lightweight materials, produced using mega casting or stamping technologies.
Stefano Percario, Country Manager of Comau France, stated:
"Comau's participation in the International Paris Air Show underscores our commitment to delivering advanced automation technologies to the aerospace sector, in addition to the many other markets we serve. This event, like others we've recently attended—such as the Hyvolution show in Paris in January (focused on hydrogen), and Global Industrie Lyon in March—allows us to continue meeting local customers and partners. France is a very important market for us, where we maintain a strong local presence and know-how, supported by Comau's international reach."
