Professional 3D printing service bureau CRP USA is proud to announce its selection as a finalist for the TCT Awards 2024 in the 'AUTOMOTIVE & RAIL APPLICATION' category, with the Oil and Water Catch Cans 3D printed for the University of Victoria Formula Racing team's racing car.

These vital components were laser sintered using Windform SP, a Carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite from the Windform range developed by CRP Technology.

This top-of-the-line material, long acclaimed by Motorsports leaders, contributes to superior performance and reliability in the demanding environment of Formula SAE racing. The partnership between CRP USA and the University of Victoria Formula Racing team has been long-established, involving the manufacturing and featuring of several components, including the steering wheel, intake manifold, oil pan, and front wing inserts, some of which were manufactured using another Carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic composite from the Windform family, the Windform XT 2.0.

Luke Wooldridge, Powertrain Lead of UVic Formula Racing, states, 'Every year, the components made with Windform generate significant interest from competition judges due to the versatility and mechanical characteristics of these materials. From our perspective, the durability of the parts 3D printed by CRP USA is incredible. We demand a lot from these parts on the track, and they continue to deliver. In the 2023 competition, we were classified as the best-placing Canadian team. Such success would not have been possible without CRP USA's invaluable contributions. We are proud that the 3D printed liquid catch cans in Windform are recognized as a finalist by an award that celebrates the very best innovations and applications of Additive Manufacturing globally."

Chris Brewster, CEO of CRP USA, comments, 'We are thrilled by the fantastic results achieved by the University of Victoria Formula Racing team in the 2023 competition; being named a finalist in the TCT Awards is not only an honor but also underscores our relentless commitment to supporting our partners with the latest advancements in Windform tailored to their needs.'
