Äpre Instruments Introduces New Affordable, High Performance Interferometer
S100 | HR model offers accurate, fast measurement and custom reporting
Äpre Instruments, a leader in interferometry for research, quality control and high volume production, introduced today their new S100 | HR high performance laser Fizeau interferometer for optical manufacturing.
"For companies looking to scale up, metrology is a serious investment, and the S100 | HR helps break down the barriers to producing more, higher quality optics. Were excited to offer a system that meets the demands of todays optical manufacturer without breaking their budget," ÄPRE President Robert Smythe said. "As high performance spheres, aspheres and even freeform surfaces become the new normal, manufacturers need test equipment that is up to the challenge."
Using ÄPREs REVEAL™ software, the S100 | HR can provide custom reports in as few as six seconds. The system runs on any 64-bit Windows® OS, 64-bit power that supports 4-megapixel acquisition and analysis.
Other benefits include:
Diffraction limited, 4-megapixel imaging
Better than λ/20 accuracy, even at 8 fringes/mm slopes
Vibration tolerant PSI and vibration insensitive carrier fringe acquisition
Äpre Instruments is now accepting orders for the S100 | HR Fizeau Interferometer. Visit http://www.apre-inst.com for more information.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs
Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
