Ursa Major's Advanced Manufacturing Lab in Youngstown, Ohio Cuts Time to Produce Rocket Engine Components from 6 Months to 1 Month

Serving IoT Needs with Cassia Networks and Soracom

One factor that can complicate an IoT application is the crowding that may occur when many connected devices occupy the same area. To help corral all of these signals, many organizations opt to deploy Bluetooth gateways to help connect their IoT devices to the cloud.

5 Manufacturing Sectors Affected by the Great Resignation

While the Great Resignation has touched virtually every industry, it's hit manufacturing harder than most. Even within manufacturing, some subsectors have seen more daunting challenges than others.

Wireless Charging Enables Industry 4.0 Implementation with Mobile Robots

The latest wireless charging solutions use techniques based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. When an alternating current is passed through an induction coil on the transmitter side, an oscillating magnetic field is created.

How a Digital Transformation Supports Supply Chain Resiliency for Manufacturers

Let's look at how leveraging AI and mobile app development modernizes supply chain operations to create more resiliency in the face of inevitable changes and disruptions.

Optimize Sales With a Reorder Point Formula

By using a reorder point formula, manufacturers can ensure that their reorder points are set to optimal levels, providing effective reordering and helping streamline inventory management.

Keyence Wide-area CMM Helps Machine Shop Diversify Into Aerospace Market

Although the checking of long components for the oil and gas sector was Coastal Machine's original requirement for the Keyence WM, the CMM's capability and versatility led to the company finding fur- ther uses for the device.

How Additive Manufacturing Can Step Up to Print Emergency Replacement Parts in the U.S. Military

Technological innovation in the U.S. military is revolutionizing defense, responding to natural disasters, and so much more, but it also creates unique challenges. 3D scanning combined with additive manufacturing (AM) can step in to print emergency replacement parts.

Reduce Automation Controller Risks and Liabilities with Secure RFID Authentication

What's the best way to ensure product quality and production uptime in industrial automation? Make sure that only trained and authorized people can access the programmable controllers.

Sales Automation for Manufacturers Buffers Global Talent Drought While Boosting Revenue

Manufacturers are increasingly acting upon the need to integrate new digital technologies and business strategies to increase productivity and efficiencies in the face of a changing skilled labor dynamic and the rapid shift of consumers to online channels.

Mitigating the Labor Shortages in Manufacturing with Plant Management Software

In the face of labor shortages and increasing demand, a plant's ability to drive efficiency and productivity is more important than ever. That's where plant management software plays a critical role in helping deliver plant performance.

How to Mitigate Supply Chain Risk in the Food & Beverage Industry

Transparency, sustainability, waste reduction and food safety are all significant concerns in need of addressing if food manufacturers want to stay relevant, competitive and optimally profitable, and relying on old strategies is no longer a viable option.

Defining hybrid integration - What does hybrid data integration really mean?

A HIP provides organizations with the tools they need to simplify data and application integration across any deployment model. With silos broken down, businesses can turn data into actionable insights, allowing them to make decisions faster.

Material Handling Trends Require the Need for Speed

Increased demand for quick and reliable fulfillment is putting added pressure onto warehouses and distribution centers to prevent supply chain disruptions from lag in data, equipment failure, and design processes.

What's In Your Warehouse?

The problem of obsolescence demands particular attention today due to the shortage of replacement parts. Replacements for older or obsolete components could once be found relatively easily on secondary markets.

PickerPal Products provides full case pick module protection to protect employees from falls.

PickerPal Products provides full case pick module protection to protect employees from falls.

PickerPal has two independent, spring-loaded arms that are self closing, which is preferred by OSHA. 3 arms are used when a kick plate is required. OSHA states that when an employee is within 4' of the edge, the area changes from a pallet position to a, "walking/working surface," which requires a kick plate or a third arm. The spring-loaded arms open on contact with the loaded skid and close on their own as products are off-loaded. This design provides multiple benefits: • Top arms close as product is removed, creating a safety gate, and the third arm closes when the empty pallet is removed. • Empty pallet positions are no longer a safety hazard. • Each are is easily replaced without removing the entire assembly.
