Insight Works Releases Quality Inspector v7.26 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Insight Works has released Quality Inspector v7.26 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The update adds a built-in failure correlation analysis page, enforces tool calibration compliance, and lets quality teams create nonconformance reports directly from a failed test, cutting steps out of the inspection process.
Insight Works has released Quality Inspector v7.26 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, introducing failure correlation analysis, enforced tool calibration compliance, and an expanded nonconformance reporting workflow. For manufacturers and distributors managing quality control across production and receiving, the update gives quality teams faster ways to trace root causes, keep testing equipment in compliance, and move from a failed test to a documented nonconformance report without leaving Business Central. Insight Works' quality control technology also forms the licensed basis for the Quality Management capabilities Microsoft has since built natively into Business Central, reflecting the company's long-standing role in the platform's quality control ecosystem.
Quality Inspector v7.26 introduces a Failure Analysis page that helps quality teams identify correlations between quality failures, making it faster to pinpoint likely causes rather than reviewing failed tests one at a time. The release also enforces tool calibration compliance directly within Business Central: Quality Inspector now prevents the use of a tool whose calibration has expired and can optionally block recording of test values when a tool's calibration is overdue. A new signature data type field lets inspectors capture sign-offs directly on a test, supporting multi-level approval processes without a separate document.
The release also expands how nonconformance reports (NCRs) are created and managed in Business Central. Users can now create an NCR directly from a test, removing steps when an inspection turns up an issue, while a new NCR process configuration wizard walks new installations through setting up their nonconformance report processes. Creating an NCR from an existing test now sets the NCR Test No. automatically, supporting FAIR Form 3 reporting, and the NCR report can embed PDF attachments from a test directly within the generated report. Quality Inspection Templates now include an NCR template type for easier organization, and Quality Inspector ships with additional sample data covering more nonconformance report scenarios. Rounding out the release, recording date values now offer an improved date-picking experience, and the default Word layout for test reports supports multiple tests in a single report.
"Correlating failures used to mean digging through individual test records to find a pattern," said Brian Neufeld, Director of Marketing at Insight Works. "Putting that analysis on one page, and connecting it directly to the NCR process, means a quality team can go from noticing a trend to documenting a nonconformance without switching tools."
