AIMS METROLOGY INTRODUCES NEW MULTISENSOR INSPECTION SOLUTIONS AT IMTS 2026

Don’t Miss AIMS’ New 5-Axis Shop Floor LM-SF Series CMM, Laser Scanning And A New Software Platform

Metrology continues to transition from its role as a final quality control checkpoint to an inline and in-process function. The ability to check parts as they are made allows manufacturers to adjust equipment in real-time, helping to reduce scrap and rework. The diverse needs of a volatile marketplace prompted AIMS Metrology to expand its measurement and inspection products and develop new options in response to customer feedback.

The OEM will demonstrate its new multisensor 5-axis coordinate measuring machines (CMM) along with a new software platform and new options for FlexGauge and CCP comparators at Booth #134242. "What we hear from manufacturing engineers more than anything else, is the need to inspect parts right on the shop floor in real time. This capability has been a core strength of our shop floor series machines such as our HB and Summit 10.10.10. But advances in automotive drivetrain, defense and aerospace components are moving that baseline and dictating tighter tolerances across the board. To meet those needs we designed and built the 5-axis multisensor LM-SF."

AIMS engineered the LM-SF for REVO 5-axis applications and advanced scanning with SP25 and lasers. The multisensor CMM allows an operator to perform different inspection tasks in one location. A thermal compensation system, active pneumatic vibration isolation and a contamination mitigation system shield the CMM from the harsh elements of a factory environment. The LM-SF series can be fully automated for integration with a production cell or used as a stand-alone inspection station.

AIMS is also introducing the LM enhanced series 5-axis CMM. The new model increases accuracy by 30 to 40 percent. It also contains features such as advanced controllers and new technology for thermal compensation mapping. With demand growing for gears with tighter tolerances, AIMS has created a gear option for its FlexGauge, a tactile scanning instrument for small, high-precision parts. A new CCP retrofit drive will allow job shops and contract manufacturers to modernize aging comparators and return them to service.

AIMS is also introducing PolyWorks, its latest software package. The platform supports 3D measurement, quality control and reverse engineering. It acts as a universal hub to connect 3D scanning hardware like laser scanners and probes. Visitors will be able to see demonstrations of scanning with PolyWorks.

About AIMS
AIMS' Revolution Series 5-axis coordinate measuring machines (CMM) provide the manufacturing market with multisensor inspection and intelligence-gathering tools. Exclusively supported by Renishaw's 5-axis probe systems and open-source platform technology, AIMS' LM, HB and Summit deliver the power, accuracy and throughput companies need to meet critical production demands for small to large-sized in-process and post process parts. The single source supplier builds and assembles its machines in the U.S. An in-house service group and application team tailors each CMM to a job shop or fabricator's needs, including programming, custom holding fixtures, tooling and automation. CMM-Manager and MODUS, give companies additional flexibility to optimize data collection with the right software solution. AIMS' aftermarket service and support technicians partner with manufacturers to help maintain uptime. Machine retrofits and refurbished equipment are also available. AIMS is ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certified for calibration services
