AEM’s Manufacturing Express Completes Tour of Lone Star State

The Month-Long Tour Made 22 Stops to Celebrate Equipment Manufacturing Workers Across Texas

HOUSTON, TX - The AEM Manufacturing Express today concluded its month-long tour of the equipment manufacturing capital of America, Texas. The tour, which launched on August 1 in Mount Pleasant and concluded today in Houston, traveled to 22 manufacturers across 17 Texas cities, celebrating the 345,000 million men and women of the Texas equipment manufacturing industry - more than any other state.

This month's tour followed last year's historic and award-winning tour across 22 states and 80 facilities. Across the 22 Texas stops, over a dozen local, state, and federal lawmakers took facility tours, joined in celebratory festivities, and heard directly from workers in the industry.

"From visits to family-owned manufacturers to global brands, this month's tour was a strong reminder of the far-reaching impact of our industry," said AEM President and CEO Megan Tanel. "We were grateful to put a spotlight on the people that make our industry stronger. Every worker we met along the tour has a story, and those stories deserve to be told."

Each stop of the tour invited attendees to play the "Manufacturing Challenge," an interactive game testing knowledge of the equipment manufacturing industry, for a chance to win giveaways. Attendees were also invited to become advocates for the industry by joining AEM's national grassroots campaign, I Make America.

"As the equipment manufacturing capital of America, Texas leads by example: investing in its workforce, understanding the promise of American manufacturing, and championing pro-growth policies," said AEM Senior Vice President of Government and Industry Relations Kip Eideberg. "Our month-long tour was about celebrating this success, and most importantly, the people that work behind the scenes. From welders to engineers, the equipment manufacturing industry is only as strong as its people, and this tour was about recognizing their role in making America - and the world."

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

FLIR Si1-LD - Industrial Acoustic Imaging Camera for Compressed Air Leak Detection

The FLIR Si1-LD is an easy-to-use acoustic imaging camera for locating and quantifying pressurized leaks in compressed air systems. This lightweight, one-handed camera is designed to help maintenance, manufacturing, and engineering professionals identify air leaks faster than with traditional methods. Built with a carefully constructed array of MEMS microphones for high sensitivity, the Si1-LD produces a precise acoustic image that visually displays ultrasonic information, even in loud, industrial environments. The acoustic image is overlaid in real time on a digital image, allowing you to accurately pinpoint the source of the sound, with onboard analytics which quantify the losses being incurred. The Si1-LD features a plugin that enables you to import acoustic images to FLIR Thermal Studio suite for offline editing, analysis, and advanced report creation. Field analysis and reporting can also be done using the FLIR Acoustic Camera Viewer cloud service. Transferring of images can be managed via memory stick or USB data cable. Through a regular maintenance routine, the FLIR Si1-LD can help facilities reduce their environmental impact and save money on utility bills.
