Crosser and Weidmüller partner to deliver industrial machine learning that anyone can master

The joint venture is a full circle solution that combines the unique low-code capabilities of both companies to deliver a complete solution that anyone can master, regardless of their coding capabilities.

Stockholm / Paderborn, 8 November 2021 - Crosser, the leading low-code platform for edge analytics and intelligent workflows and Weidmüller, provider of advanced Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and analytics services, announce a partnership to deliver an end-to-end machine learning solution that empowers subject matter experts to build and deploy machine learning powered use cases, without the support of data science experts.

The joint venture is a full circle solution that combines the unique low-code capabilities of both companies to deliver a complete solution that anyone can master, regardless of their coding capabilities.

As part of the partnership, the growing family of IoT devices in the Weidmüller product portfolio will be able to use the Crosser Edge Node software through a simple one-click installation via a u-create web add-on manager. The low-code Crosser edge analytics platform allows users to collect and prepare industrial data, host and run trained models in the edge and take real-time actions with intelligent workflows.

The Weidmüller Industrial AutoML solution empowers subject matter experts to train models using its no-code ModelBuilder, where anomalies and normal state patterns are highlighted in a point-and-click manner.

"Weidmüller is an expert in industrial data connectivity and has a long industrial experience that they have leveraged to develop their Industrial AutoML solution," says Dr. Göran Appelquist, CTO at Crosser. "The AutoML tool empowers customers to transfer their data and domain knowledge into machine learning models that generate value for their business. We believe the combined solution addresses all steps in the life cycle of machine learning powered use cases and will accelerate the pace of innovation for customers."

Dr. Carlos Paiz Gatica, product owner for Industrial AutoML at Weidmüller states: "It is when a machine learning model becomes actionable that the full value of the model is extracted. The Crosser low-code solution takes care of everything around collecting and preparing data for training and execution of the machine learning models, including the important mass-orchestration of new or updated models to a large volume of edge nodes."
Machine learning is a game changer for the industry because it possible to arrange tasks such as monitoring of processes or machines in a way reduces the required input of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). But the combination of application knowhow and data science knowledge plays a major role in the development of any machine learning solution. And this is also the challenge for the industry.
Finding employees with the right data science skills is challenging. This combined solution from Crosser and Weidmüller enables plant operators and OEMs to harness the benefits of machine learning without the need for their own data science experts.
Crosser and Weidmüller will be exhibiting at SPS from November 23 to November 25 in Nuremberg, Germany. If you'd like to meet with the team, please get in touch. Alternatively, click here to learn more about the Crosser Edge Node and try Crosser for free.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
