Industrial Transformation MEXICO 2019: First HANNOVER MESSE Event Held in Mexico and Latin America Surpasses All Expectations

“The premier of ITM 2019 is hardly comparable with any other in the history of Deutsche Messe Group and is a real benchmark,” said Deutsche Messe CEO Jochen Köckler, the organizer of HANNOVER MESSE.

Chicago - Following the successful staging of HANNOVER MESSE USA 2018 alongside IMTS in Chicago, the inaugural Industrial Transformation MEXICO (ITM 2019) is the first HANNOVER MESSE industrial technology event organized in Mexico and Latin America. ITM 2019 showcased smart manufacturing and digital transformation in Mexico, drawing more than 30,000 attendees from Mexico and abroad during the three-day event held from October 9-11 at the Poliforum León in Guanajuato, Mexico. ITM 2019 featured 265 exhibitors from 10 countries that showcased the latest in Industry 4.0 technology. The show covered more than 18,000 square meters of exhibition space and featured more than 70 Industry 4.0 conferences, workshops and seminars free to registered attendees. ITM 2020, the second edition of HANNOVER MESSE in Mexico and Latin America, will take place October 7-9, 2020 in Guanajuato, Mexico.

"The premier of ITM 2019 is hardly comparable with any other in the history of Deutsche Messe Group and is a real benchmark," said Deutsche Messe CEO Jochen Köckler, the organizer of HANNOVER MESSE.

"The ITM 2019 results surpassed all expectations," said Hannover Fairs Mexico CEO Bernd Rohde. Of the 30,000 attendees, approximately half were professional buyers, 12,000 students and 790 accredited international journalists. "The more than 70 conferences, workshops and seminars exposed thousands of students, young people, small and mid-size companies to the Industry 4.0 mindset, while the ITMujeres program became the first educational platform designed to encourage more women to participate in Industry 4.0 initiatives," added Rohde.

During the post show press conference to announce the show's results, Guanajuato Governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo said, "ITM 2019 generated $52 million in on-site business and another $850 million in the form of an investment project." According to Vallejo, the ITM trade show will initiate a new phase in Mexican industry, paving the way to a better future for the state of Guanajuato in particular and Mexico in general. "ITM 2019 establishes Guanajuato as an Industry 4.0 hub for the design of the technology of the future and an innovation powerhouse," added Vallejo.

Speaking at the press conference on behalf of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United States of Mexico (CONCAMIN), Manuel Pérez Cárdenas said that the decision to hold ITM in Mexico indicates the country is an increasingly important Industry 4.0 player. "Mexico is without question the most highly industrialized economy in Latin America and a leading exporter of high-technology goods that is progressing in leaps and bounds," said Cárdenas. He ended by underlining the importance of the collaboration between the Annual Industrialists Meeting and HANNOVER MESSE, which served to "fuel what we are already doing right in the country in terms of Industry 4.0."
