ParaMatters Gives Live Demonstrations of Its Newest Generative Design and Lightweighting Software at RAPID + TCT 2019

CogniCAD 2.1 topology optimizer for lightweighting, additive manufacturing and investment casting delivers the widest range of generative designs and manufacturing optionality

Detroit, MI, May 20, 2019 -- ParaMatters, a leading provider of manufacturing ready generative

design, autonomous topology optimization, parts consolidation and lightweighting software solutions,
announced it will publicly demonstrate its CogniCAD 2.1 platform for the first time at RAPID + TCT 2019
in Detroit.
CogniCAD automatically generates ready-to-3D print or investment cast high-performance,
lightweighted structures for aerospace, automotive and other mission critical applications both as a
cloud-based service or localized enterprise solution.
ParaMatters plans to demonstrate CogniCAD's latest capabilities live throughout the show at the
XponentialWorks booth #2117 at the Cobb Center in Detroit, May 21-23. The company invites industry
practitioners, qualified resellers and strategic partners to experience how generative design is
unlocking the full potential of additive manufacturing and investment casting. To reserve your private
demonstration at Rapid+TCT, please make your appointment today. Availability is limited.

The designs generated by CogniCAD 2.1 as a one-click solution are smooth and watertight STL models
ready for additive manufacturing or STEP files that are compliant with all CAD systems. The new
CogniCAD release offers an expanded range of loading conditions including thermal loads and
force/moments via remote points, and also to existing acceleration (g-forces) and pressure. In cases
when loading conditions are not known, CogniCAD's AI generates a robust design autonomously. This
new and advanced feature ensures that the design is tailored to the specific application field
(aerospace, automotive, medical or industrial design).

CogniCAD 2.1 comes with broader design for additive manufacturing and investment casting with
functional design capabilities including stress, compliance (stiffness) and deformation constraints. By
minimizing unsupported areas or supports volume, CogniCAD generates the most optimal design and
find its ideal model orientation for additive manufacturing while highlighting areas which require
reinforcement. Importantly, CogniCAD 2.1 allows users to select the desired combination between
resolution and speed of computation with the introduction of its 2X computational speedup.
ParaMatters believes that providing the optimal print orientation is a critical step towards applying
generative design to optimize the entire support structure and accordingly the company is planning to
release further generative support capabilities throughout the remainder of this year.
"We are proud to make CogniCAD 2.1's debut at RAPID + TCT," said ParaMatters Co-founder and Chief
Technology Officer Dr. Michael Bogomolny. "This enhanced version of ParaMatters' powerful agnostic
CAD-to-CAD generative design and lightweighting software provides more options and greater
flexibility for the most challenging of design and manufacturing applications."
"For the first time ever, engineers and designers have at their fingertips a powerful design tool, in
CogniCAD, that enables them to fully unlock the potential of additive manufacturing and investment
casting," said Avi Reichental, ParaMatters Co-founder and Chairman. "CogniCAD 2.1 accomplishes this
with the impressive combination of advanced topology optimization techniques, computational
geometry, elastic computing power in the cloud, and artificial intelligence."
CogniCAD 2.1 works by first importing CAD files into the platform, then defining loading (manually or
asking CogniCAD AI to do this), and design criteria. Users can obtain generative designs within tens of
minutes that are verified by built-in Finite-Element Analysis. All ParaMatters-generated designs can be
directly produced using additive manufacturing.
The CogniCAD 2.1 update can be accessed at www.paramatters.com as a pay-per-design, cloud-based
service. The company is offering several subscription and enterprise-based models, and actively
engages in several complementary strategic partnerships.
ParaMatters continues to develop advanced algorithms designed to enhance the entire manufacturing
design and overall digital thread and additive manufacturing capabilities. This includes a new
cloud-based, generative design platform that automatically compiles metamaterial lattice structures
on-demand, based on size, weight, strength, style, materials and cost as specified by designers or
engineers. Unique meso structural capabilities, which are offered as a design service that delivers
biomimicry design for optimal structural infills, a mission-critical requirement for certain additive
manufacturing processes.
