Machine vision for Industry 4.0, live and up close: MVTec at HANNOVER MESSE

• Presentation of MERLIC 4 and HALCON 18.11 • Application and benefits of machine vision in the Industrial Internet of Things • Exciting robot demo provides insight into MERLIC functionality

Innovative standard machine vision software performs a vital function in Industry 4.0 aka the Industrial Internet of Things. MVTec Software GmbH (www.mvtec.com) will be demonstrating this at HANNOVER MESSE from April 1 to 5, 2019. In line with the trade fair's motto, "Integrated Industry - Industrial Intelligence", the provider of standard machine vision software will be exhibiting the highlights of its portfolio at booth E42/15 in hall 17 as part of the Robotics, Automation & Vision Application Park. Visitors can experience first-hand how professional machine vision software products contribute to the digital networking of man and machine, thanks to optimized process integration and ease of use.

The focus is on MERLIC 4, the new version of the standard software for easily and efficiently creating machine vision applications. Highlights include the parallel processing and implementation of various tools as well as many other new and optimized MERLIC 4 features. MVTec is also presenting the deep learning functions of its second flagship product, HALCON 18.11.

Practical demo of MVTec MERLIC
To demonstrate the application and benefits of MERLIC, MVTec is showcasing a new demo for robot-supported inspections. The demo clearly shows how the software enables the fast retrofitting to other machine vision tasks and how the processes can be integrated when changing a production line. A collaborative robot controls the camera, autonomously recognizes new workpiece series, and performs various tasks, thus ensuring a high degree of flexibility when inspecting different objects. The exhibit also demonstrates the seamless integration of machine vision and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
