zSpace Allows Students to Visualize and Collaborate on 3D Designs With Autodesk Tinkercad

Silicon Valley-based Education Providers AR/VR Technology Now Integrated With 3D Modeling App to Optimize 3D Printing Capabilities

Today zSpace, an education technology provider that enables AR/VR experiences in the classroom, teamed up with Autodesk, the software provider for people who make things, to announce a technology integration with Autodesk Tinkercad, allowing students to visualize and collaborate on designs in a 3D, immersive environment.

Tinkercad is a browser-based 3D design and modeling tool which allows students to design what theyve imagined it in minutes. When launching a design in zSpace, students can "lift" and manipulate models within zSpace Studios vast 3D model library of science, technology, engineering, art and math (S.T.E.A.M.) content. Studio contains thousands of models from many subject areas as well as standard-aligned activities available in Spanish, Simplified Chinese and English. Students can work in pairs, groups, or present their designs to the class. Finally, students can review their designs from all angles before printing, to save time and materials.

"Together with Autodesk, we are offering students a way to visualize their designs in a totally immersive learning environment," said Paul Kellenberger, CEO of zSpace. "Our innovative platform for AR/VR learning, combined with Tinkercads 3D design and modeling tool, provide school Makerspaces and STEAM Labs with a collaborative approach to sharing designs and creating."

"By helping users visualize creative designs in an AR/VR environment, this new integration from Autodesk and zSpace offers the user a more accurate representation of the design," said Guillermo Melantoni, product line manager, Autodesk. "By teaming up with zSpace, were excited to be a part of bringing new forms of making to the next generation of designers, both in the classroom and beyond."
