PostProcess Technologies Announces Large Format Finishing For The Additive Manufacturing Industry

Automated and intelligent post-printing surface finish solution now available for large format additive parts

BUFFALO, N.Y., March 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- PostProcess Technologies, the only provider of automated and intelligent post-processing solutions for 3D printed parts, announced the introduction of the second generation DECI Rectangular, the company's largest product in the Surface Finish (SF) series. PostProcess continues to pioneer automated post-printing solutions that eliminate the 'bottleneck' associated with manual post-printing of additive parts. This is fundamental to achieving scale and unlocking the promise of 3D printing to drive the future of the manufacturing industry.

The SF DECI Rectangular is the only automated SF machine that has been specifically designed for additive parts. This next generation offering was created based on customer feedback and groundbreaking innovation from the PostProcess team. The SF DECI Rectangular integrates proprietary agitation algorithms into a system that is designed with a large chamber. It is capable of finishing parts printed with any additive technology and all additive materials. This technological advancement will be used for both higher volume production runs or for larger complex geometries. The SF DECI Rectangular offers a divided chamber that allows for two parallel production processes to occur independently, with different consumables, providing additional versatility to accommodate the rapid growth of the industry.

Beckhoff is the exclusive provider of industrial automation components for all PostProcess machines. T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs

Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
