Proto Labs Wins Frost & Sullivan's 2016 Manufacturing Leadership Award for Customer Value
Interactive quoting system lifts Proto Labs to second consecutive leadership award
MAPLE PLAIN, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Prototype and low-volume production parts manufacturer Proto Labs, Inc. (NYSE: PRLB) has been awarded a Manufacturing Leadership Award for the second year in a row by corporate growth consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. Now in its 12th year, the awards honor manufacturing companies and individual manufacturing leaders shaping the future of global manufacturing.
Frost & Sullivans Manufacturing Leadership Council - a member-driven, global business leadership network of more than 100 members - is responsible for selecting winners of the annual award. Proto Labs was recognized in the Customer Value category for its interactive quoting system that provides customers with automated design analysis on 3D CAD models. Last year, Proto Labs won for Innovation Process Leadership. Other 2016 winners in the Customer Value category include Cisco Systems, Diebold, Lexmark and Dow Chemical.
"We are extremely delighted to have been presented with another leadership award from such a respected organization as Frost & Sullivan," says Vicki Holt, Proto Labs President and CEO. "So many of the product designers, developers and engineers who regularly work with us have praised the value and utility of our interactive quoting system with design feedback, so winning an award for customer satisfaction in this area is particularly rewarding."
The Manufacturing Leadership Summit is set to follow in Carlsbad, Calif. on June 6-9. Themed "Manufacturing 4.0: The New Rules of Leadership," the three-day event gathers industry experts to discuss challenges and new opportunities in manufacturing, and culminates in an awards gala to honor this years winners.

PickerPal Products provides full case pick module protection to protect employees from falls.
PickerPal has two independent, spring-loaded arms that are self closing, which is preferred by OSHA. 3 arms are used when a kick plate is required. OSHA states that when an employee is within 4' of the edge, the area changes from a pallet position to a, "walking/working surface," which requires a kick plate or a third arm. The spring-loaded arms open on contact with the loaded skid and close on their own as products are off-loaded. This design provides multiple benefits: • Top arms close as product is removed, creating a safety gate, and the third arm closes when the empty pallet is removed. • Empty pallet positions are no longer a safety hazard. • Each are is easily replaced without removing the entire assembly.
