KUKA Robotics Discusses the Merits of Fully Automated Manufacturing Processes at the ASSEMBLY Show 2019

KUKA will be exhibiting and presenting at the seventh annual ASSEMBLY Show

KUKA Robotics, an intelligent automation solutions global supplier, will be exhibiting its fastening and safety solutions, as well as presenting on how to properly invest in automation solutions at the ASSEMBLY Show in Chicago from Oct. 22-24. The ASSEMBLY Show is a three-day event, focused exclusively on assembly technology equipment and products, that provides manufacturing industry leaders opportunities to network, explore new solutions, uncover new resources and learn from other subject matter experts.

At the event, Scott Flood, Vice President of Sales USA at KUKA, will give his presentation "You Can Get a Robot to Do That." Flood will discuss how manufacturers can use robots for individual process automation when fully automated processes no longer provide economic benefit to a company. Instead, these companies can invest in customized robotic solutions to meet unique business needs. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 1:35 p.m. as part of the workshop track "Transitioning from Manual to Automated Assembly."

KUKA will also demonstrate its automation solutions at its booth #2111 with on-site experts available to answer any questions attendees may have on the solutions. The solutions include:

ready2_fasten: The ready2_fasten demonstration will feature a KR 3 AGILUS robot. It will showcase its fastening capabilities by taking a micro screw from the feeder and fastening it into a large plate - this technique is particularly useful for the production of small electronics devices.
KUKA.SafeOperation and KUKA AGILUS: During this demonstration, a KUKA AGILUS robot will interact with KUKA.SafeOperation, which defines and monitors workspaces and protected spaces on a factory floor. The AGILUS robot is compact and built for high working speeds. Its small size allows for increased precision, making it a perfect tool for tasks like assembly and fastening.
"The assembly process has changed dramatically over the years, and we'll continue to see it change even more as we dive deeper into Industry 4.0. It's a constant learning-curve for manufacturers," said Steve Green, President at KUKA US. "At KUKA, we're committed to not only providing our customers with the most up-to-date solutions, but also educating them on what's coming next to ensure they're prepared for the manufacturing industry of the future."
