The application of Industrial Internet of Things and AI in manufacturing are projected to generate from $45 bln of value globally by 2022, in four primary forms: operational efficiency, predictive and preventative maintenance, supply chain management, and inventories and logistics. Analysts anticipate the application of IIoT to maximize factory floor efficiency will have the largest impact among the four IIoT application forms, increasing productivity by as much as 25 percent. The goal of the Internet of Things is to change the technological and business processes in such a way as to increase their efficiency and significantly reduce the need for human participation in making routine decisions related to the management of objects in such networks.
