BigRep will be running live demonstrations at our booth all three days. We find that's often the most productive - a conversation on the show floor around real parts tends to be very beneficial.

Q&A with Jason Tzintzun Head of Marketing, Americas | BigRep

Tell us about BigRep.

BigRep was founded in Berlin in 2014 with one mission: offer 3D printers large enough to build parts at full scale. Today, our systems are used by engineers building on-demand tooling, automotive teams producing large functional prototypes, and defense contractors manufacturing components that simply can’t be outsourced.

Our printers aren’t for hobbyists – they’re for organizations with industrial manufacturing environments where accuracy, repeatability, and part size are non-negotiable. We operate across North America, Europe, and Asia through a network of sales and service partners, which means customers get local support for industrial-grade equipment.

BigRep will be exhibiting at RAPID+TCT – what makes this an important event for you?

RAPID+TCT is, in many ways, our annual reunion with the customers and North American partners who drive our business forward. It’s where we show, in person, what’s new in our portfolio and how it fits into the way manufacturers actually work. For us, that’s the key distinction: we’re not introducing additive manufacturing to this crowd. We’re talking to the engineers and procurement teams who already understand the technology and want to know how to go bigger and integrate it more deeply into their existing workflows. RAPID is the right room for that conversation.

What makes your booth a must-visit for RAPID+TCT attendees?

Big parts. We’ll have large-format printed components on the floor – things you can pick up and ask questions about – along with real examples from how customers in aerospace, automotive, and industrial manufacturing are using our systems to shorten lead times and reduce outsourcing costs. We won’t just show you the machine; we’ll show you what came out of it and why it matters.

Of course, we will have machines on display too. We will have the BigRep ONE in our booth, along with the BigRep DRYCON and BigRep VIIO 250, two products that solve some big challenges for end-users: material conditioning and ease of use, respectively.

Beyond the hardware, we encourage anyone visiting booth 2355 to bring a problem. We’ll have applications engineers on-site eager to have a conversation about your specific parts, your current process, and whether large-format AM makes sense for what you’re trying to do.

RAPID+TCT has many educational sessions, forums, and demos – is your company involved in any of them this year?

BigRep will be running live demonstrations at our booth all three days. We find that’s often the most productive – a conversation on the show floor around real parts tends to go further than a panel discussion ever could. If you want to understand how large-format additive manufacturing fits into a manufacturing environment, come see our technology running.

When you walk the exhibit hall Jason, what will you be most interested to see?

Software, specifically what’s happening at the intersection of AI and additive manufacturing process planning. There’s interesting work being done on mechanical stress simulation and slicer orientation optimization that may make large-format printing more accessible to engineers who aren’t AM specialists. That’s a meaningful step forward for the industry, and it will be great to see who’s making progress there.

Additive manufacturing is advancing quickly across automation, materials, and AI. In your opinion Jason, what does the future hold?

In ten years, “additive manufacturing” won’t be a separate category – it will just be considered manufacturing. The technology is mature enough that the conversation is shifting from “can we do this with AM?” to “how do we run this reliably at scale?”

What we hope happens in the near term is deeper integration across the ecosystem – hardware, software, and materials from different vendors working together seamlessly rather than in silos. The end customer doesn’t care whose slicer or whose filament they’re running. They care whether the part comes out right, on time, and at a cost that makes sense. The more our industry solves for that – collectively – the faster adoption accelerates across the board.
