MCMA Technical Conference in New Orleans Registration Open
MCMAs TechCon is an educational conference focused on the needs of users of motion control and motor technologies. New in 2016, the conference includes MCMAs Certified Motion Control Professional training.
(Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA) - Today the Motion Control & Motor Association (MCMA), the global trade association for the motion control and motor industry, announced that online registration is open for the annual Technical Conference (TechCon), which will be held October 11-13, 2016 in New Orleans, Louisiana USA.
MCMAs TechCon is an educational conference focused on the needs of users of motion control and motor technologies. New in 2016, the conference includes MCMAs Certified Motion Control Professional training. Additionally, the conference features more than 30 educational sessions in three distinct tracks including motors and related technologies; motion control, drives and related technologies; and networks and software tools for engineers all taught by industry leading professionals.
TechCon includes an exhibition showcasing the latest products, technologies and trends in motion control and motors.
"Engineers, system integrators, machine builders and end users meet once a year at TechCon to keep their skills up-to-date and to help their companies be more productive," says Dana Whalls, MCMAs Vice President. The MCMA Certified Motion Control Professional training is being taught for the first time at TechCon. Attendees of this training will be able to get certified after a one-day, hands-on workshop and exam slated for April 5, 2017 during MCMAs Automate trade show in Chicago.

T.J. Davies' Retention Knobs
Our retention knobs are manufactured above international standards or to machine builder specifications. Retention knobs are manufactured utilizing AMS-6274/AISI-8620 alloy steel drawn in the United States. Threads are single-pointed on our lathes while manufacturing all other retention knob features to ensure high concentricity. Our process ensures that our threads are balanced (lead in/lead out at 180 degrees.) Each retention knob is carburized (hardened) to 58-62HRC, and case depth is .020-.030. Core hardness 40HRC. Each retention knob is coated utilizing a hot black oxide coating to military specifications. Our retention knobs are 100% covered in black oxide to prevent rust. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better: ISO grade 6N. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and tested at 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar. Certifications are maintained for each step in the manufacturing process for traceability.
